There’s a lot that’s new. Me and my team went on a break from October last year to take some time to reflect on our blog. We decided we needed to create a site more suited for young people; a site that looks fresher and bolder whilst remaining true to our values.

And we’re glad we’ve done that. The site loads much faster, the images are bigger and bolder, the site is more responsive, there are more categories and a better search bar so you can find what you want so much more easily.

The other exciting change is our blog’s logo. The logo was initially made by me fresh out of finishing my degree. I’m someone with zero design experience; if you saw it you’ll know the old logo wasn’t exactly a visual ground breaker.

So we worked with Kay Webb a freelance graphic designer, to produce a new logo that still represents all the political colours but in a more interesting way. And had a lot of different ones to choose from.

The different logo designs for the new website

In the end we went with the circular design. The brush strokes make the logo look a little rough around the edges, whilst still keeping it super pro and simple. The colours almost run into one another, which is exactly how Naked Politics is: lots of different political opinions melting together in one blog. It’s a great symbol of our values.

So that’s what’s changed. But there’s a lot about us that will be remaining the same. We are still committed to giving young people a voice amongst much of the media who seem indifferent to what we think.

We are also still committed to being honest, transparent and agenda free, so we’ll continue to include as many different political perspectives as possible; we are here to help young people learn how to think, not what to think.

Lastly, I’d just like to say thanks to all our loyal readers who’ve come back and the many new readers who I hope join us. Naked Politics wouldn’t be what it is without it’s readers. So thank you for being a part of what makes this blog so special.

We’re looking forward to continuing on the work that we’ve built on and I really hope that you enjoy our new website. So hit the homepage and get browsing!
